You know, I never really considered getting Easter Eggers. My feed store was selling Araucanas, so I got one. Then I learned that feed stores don’t sell real Araucanas, but my feed store’s supplier hatchery (Privette) sells “Americanas,” which are really EEs. Well, she is the sweetest, most cuddly pullet I have had yet and I adore her!!! I don’t really care what breed she is. I also wasn’t sure I was fond of the beard and muffs, but... they are oh so cute. I’m sold!

Yes! They are my favorite breed! So so sweet! And come in so many different colors that all are pretty unique... and they are great layers of beautifully colored large eggs! I have nine different breeds and they are my best layers ❤ ... I can’t say enough good things about them... these are my six EEs.... there is one downside... they pluck each other’s beards and muffs out.. I have also seen them doing it to themselves... I don’t think they like it when they get wet... I wonder if I switch to nipples they would stop... you can see Poppy in that third pic.. bald face! I sure hope they don’t do it to Claudine and Clementine... theirs are so cute!

Well, they really can only manage to get at their own beards... so someone else is definitely pulling out the muffs!
