Meet my Chick!

They would love that! These aren't weeds mom...it's a delicious salad...🥗nom nom nom! :gig
That’s fa tru! They could really help out! Especially when everything is so wet!
And now that I mentioned this.. I am on a mission! I have been wanting fencing for some time now.. so I might try working hard on getting this done! Unfortunately, everything that I want to do cost money! :barnie

That's the truth! We have fencing, but it's not all field fence and we don't have a gate, so it's not good enough to keep dogs out! We would like to dog proof better, but it will be expensive & hard to do as most of it is in our treeline!

Thanks. Now that I have the roof figured out it should go much quicker. I was really stumped by that. I had such limited lumber and I did not want to go back.
Roofs are difficult and I can understand not wanting to go back. Hubs always plans for 10% more than he thinks we'll need, but that doesn't always work, it's easy to miss the fact that you need a nailer or you have a tired me running the miter saw, cutting it 3x's & still leaving it too short (yes, this has happened 😂)...we've had to run back more times than I can count!

Yes, this is one of the main reasons I want a fence! Neighborhood dogs running on my property! I told hubs that if anything were to happen.. as in, a dog attack on the chickens, my dogs, or a person then I would 100% immediately get a fence put up no matter the cost! So I said... why wait till something bad happens! Getting it done before that should happen makes way more sense!!

Makes total sense! I would love to go in and make improvements like we did in the chicken run. We wouldn't have to go as tall. It will be easier on the rest of the back fence line, which is the rest of the fence from the run, but still not easy!

The peak of the roof needed addressing so at lunch time today I improvised. As you can see, doing the roof this way left a gap at the peak. How to close that gap was the question.

Then I remembered something from when we remodeled the kitchen in 2002. There was wallpaper in the kitchen and where the wallpaper came to an opening in the wall they had used plastic edging to keep the wallpaper from being peeled of by hands. I have saved those pieces from that remodel.

Yes, for 19 years. Guess what! I reused one.

It was just short of the correct length but with the overhang on each side, one piece covered the inside of the shed. One problem. The passive was at a 90° angle. That would not work.

Heat gun to the rescue. I heated the peak of the plastic and then pressed it against the roof with a gloved hand. I was able to bend it enough. 8 screws later, the gap is filled.

Good morning Grammy! Hope you have a lovely day! I am not doing much for the next couple of days as it’s supposed to rain... a lot!!!
Perhaps I’ll get some things done inside!
I have some furniture that needs painting...
We are also supposed to be getting rain starting this evening, it tried to start while we were feeding the animals. Hope it's nice and doesn't rain too much for you.

That is true ingenuity at work! :highfive:

I love being able to use materials that we saved from years before!
