Meet my rescue boys!

Nice enclosure! Oh man, so lucky! He must know how good he has it there! I'm so terrified that mine are going to accidentally sneak out on me. I think I'll put bands with my phone number on their cute little legs just in case.

Any pigeon (with the exception of homer blood) that has been kept in it's current enclosure for more than a month or 2 will return to roost by evening. I let mine out all the time when I had them, the only reason that mine eventually decided not to come home was there was a grain mill not to far from my house and lots of "wild" pigeons lived there. A pigeon with homer blood will always return to where it hatched, from what I've been told.

I don't know... I'd be nervous to chance it. I mean, my guys aren't particularly well known for their homing abilities. We got Francis because he was found in some store parking lot, there for days! And Speck is a king, not the best at flying...I'd just be worried that they'd get out, get lost and attacked by a dog or hawk or something.

Homers will return to a place other than where they were hatched, so long as they have not been flown by a previous owner. In that case they will return to that original owner. From my understanding, you could fly an adult homer for the first time and it is supposed to return as long as it hasn't been flown by somebody else before.

That's awesome! I really love the experience that I had. The whole process was very pleasant, Elizabeth is so kind and wonderful, everything was smooth sailing and couldn't have gone better. I HIGHLY recommend MickaCoo to anybody who is considering adopting pigeons!

when you get a king from MickaCoo can you train it to fly back to your house instead of it trying to fly back to its old home? When kings fly around out of the pen do they go up to the tree tops or do they just stay near the ground, and do they fly around the neighborhood or just stay in your yard? Do they do well with people and are they tame?
