Hello, all. Haven't posted in a while. Life gets crazy, ya know.

Anyway, one of my RIR hens, not sure which one, has been laying an egg that has membrane on the outside. My RIR girls are creeping up on 3 years old. They're all eating well, combs look nice and bright red, no unusual behaviors.

Is this fairly common, or should I be looking for a hen heading for trouble?

Thanks-
Em

Once in a while, a strange egg will happen. Nothing to worry about as long as the hen is healthy and eating well, pooping well.

If it continues, if there's little or no shell on the eggs being laid, add some crushed oyster shell to their diet.
