Mereks...how can you really tell?

I ask because my chicks just went out to the coop. And I notice some will hunker down but then lay on their side almost. They don't stretch their leg out or anything but it's odd to me. And I suspect so even more because I had a chick die a few weeks ago that we had no idea why.
What does gray eye look like?
Poop is fine for everyone, and there are no other abnormalities than laying on their side. Could they maybe just be hot?

Maybe hot. The Mereks I've seen will paralize one leg due to tumors on nerves.

Ok good. Well I guess not good but I will take hot over the other any day. They have plenty of shade water ect but it does get hot here!
