Hello! so i have a flock of 3 young chicks which consist of a month old and 2 half months old ones, they created that flock n now I have a week old chick who is alone and cries alot. I want to merge them so she wont be alone but the older ones don't seem interested in her. Im afraid they will trample her and getting another chick friend for her is not an option because we already have many. Any suggestions are appreciated!

I had a flock of 13 chicks that were 3 weeks older than my loner chick. What I did to merge them so he wouldn’t be alone was but a “cage” that he stayed in with his own water and feeder for 5-7 days in the middle of the large brooder where the 13 stayed. They saw him and got used to him.

By the end of the time period I let him out and removed the cage and supervised. There was one chick in particular that pecked him more but then one chick took to protecting him and now everyone is in good harmony.

At the beginning everyone will kinda peck a couple times to show him they’re the boss and not him but as long as it’s not constant to the point of the chick being chased.

So a 4 week old, two 2 week olds and one 1 week old?
Where are they all living?
Dimensions and pics of your housing would help here.
Put the enclosures right next to each other, after a few days put one of the older chicks in with the youngest, see what happens. Just keep mixing and matching and it should take too long for them all to be 'together'.
