Merging flocks.

Right now we have our 9 larger hens in the main part of the coop and sectioned off the back for our new flock. The new flock is about the same size, however they are not yet laying. Our larger hens are laying their eggs around the yard now as if they are protesting losing 2 boxes to the babies. How could I merge the chickens if they are still on 2 different feeds?

You can feed both flocks the same, a grower or all purpose feed. Set out a separate bowl of oyster shell in case some layers feel the need for extra clacium. You can do the same if a broody raises chicks in the flock: just feed the whole flock the chick feed, even meeicated with amprolium.
