merging my Fat spoiled chickens with new, not so big chickens

So I have raised 5 chicks from days olds- they will be 6 weeks old this week. This weekend I picked up 5 more- 3 that will be 8 weeks old this week, and 2 that are the same age as mine, and holy cow! I have huge chickens! my originals are almost exactly the same size as the new 8 week old girls, and the new 6 week olds seem so little!
merging the two groups is going alright, no major issues, it's funny though, my sweetest girl has been the only real bully so far, very unexpected.

Lets hope I can get the new girls just as fat and spoiled as the originals!

Funny, I'm in the early stages of merging 10 month old pullets with 6-7 wk old chicks and the same thing happened. The one that I was sure wouldn't be a problem - my sweet little bantum - is the most vicious. What's really funny is that the babies are almost as big as she is but boy she actually stalks them. I just don't leave them alone together and when she attacks I squirt her with a squirt bottle. Good luck.

Oh I'm glad mine are not stalking the new ones! My Raspberry ( a white rock) just seems to chase the new ones away- specifically the 2 buff orpingtons- she leaves them alone once they get out of her space. I hope they all start to get along!
