Hello, I want to merge 2 flocks together, but both are very young and small "flocks". Most of my experience has been to integrate a handful of younger birds to larger flocks, but this time I need to do it different and was looking on some advice on when to do this.

I have 2 flocks:

FLOCK A:
1 - Adoptive mom cochin (2 yrs)
4 - EE chicks (4 weeks)

FLOCK B:
1 - Light brahma (13 weeks)
1 - Welsummer (8 weeks)
1 - BLR wyandotte (8 weeks)

Both are fine on their own and separated by a chicken wire fence. And was wondering when the best time to integrate them is. I dont want to lose any chicks, but I know these are all docile breeds and the birds are all relatively young. I was thinking of doing it when the chicks in flock A are 6 weeks old. Any Advice?

Both are fine on their own and separated by a chicken wire fence.

I would probably try letting them be together, and stand there to watch what happens.

Even the littlest ones are large enough that they will probably not be seriously injured while you are watching.

Most likely, the hen will chase the others away from "her" babies. In a large enough pen, you will soon have peace, with one group hanging out on each side. If the pen is not that large, then you will not really be able to integrate them until the hen quits being so protective of the babies (happens at different ages with different hens.)
