Merry Christmas to Everyone... and my girls are up to full production

Just thought I would do this today in case any of you are going away for the holiday,

I would like to thank you all for your advice and friendship since I joined the site, and wish you all a very very happy holiday time.

All have come at the same time almost , some have passed some yet to come, but the wishes are the same.

Happy Holiday and a Prosperous New Year and may all your wishes come true in the comin year.

This morning my girls gave me a gift of 4 beautiful brown eggs, full production for the fist time, and I am so very proud of the babies I brought home in September.

Awwww, How Purty! I swear chicken-less people just don't get it! They don't understand how the seemingly 'small stuff' just makes our day!

I have had so many exciting days this year;

The night that ALL the girls chose the roosting bars and NOT the nest boxes.

The day my month-overdue Brahma FINALLY laid her first teeny tiny egg which was comic since she feels like she weighs 5 pounds.

The day my Gold Sex link chose my hand built nest boxes as her laying spot and went down the line day after day and laid in a different box everytime! (she was the only one laying at the time so I knew it was her!) I was afraid that the girls would back up and wait for one box to open up instead of 'free-ranging' all the boxes for their laying pleasure.

I think you are right. Non chicken people just don't get it do they?

I have been so thrilled so many times since I got my girls.

The first little baby egg was the greatest thrill.... lol...

But just enjoying them being around and making a fuss of them every day gives me a focus for my day, and in other ways has been a real encourgaement for me.
