Reading through your thread, water belly was my thought.

When you pick her up, does she seem uncomfortable, wheeze, gurgle, or anything like that? If she has water belly, picking her up (squeezing/putting pressure on her body) can cause her to have difficulty breathing. This can be a telling clue as to what you're dealing with.

I had a hen who had water belly. At it's worst we had to drain her a few times a week, but eventually the need waned. It was much easier than it seemed- I did solicit my husband to help. There are tons of YouTube videos if you decide to go that route. After the first draining, she felt SOO much better, and from that point on she would seek me out and give me a look that said "it's time to drain me." She wasn't even a very friendly chicken but she seemed to know we could provide relief. After several weeks we no longer had to drain her. Her abdomen always felt a little swollen or bloated, but it no longer seemed to be filling up or pooling in her body. She lived another 8 months after that.
Thank you for your input. She seems uncomfortable when we put a hand on her belly for support while holding her (between her legs). There is no change in her breathing and I don't hear anything bad or unusual. She just seems irritated with pressure there. She feels large and hard there, not squishy like a water balloon. I don't know if that means anything or what it means. It is hard. This morning, I discovered this by the water bowl about an hour after she emerged. I don't know what this is - hoping it was the cause of her problems and we're on the road to recovery unless it happens again.

Is it runny on the inside like an egg or is it layered and thick like tissue? There's something called a lash egg which is not an egg but it looks like one and it's an indication of infection. Eggcessive will know.

It was thick like tissue. I started enrofloxacin today but it's probably too late. I wish I would have known she wasn't feeling well before 3 days ago when her first symptoms displayed.

Not Lash Egg.
Some type of bulb, plant/bulb.

It doesn't look like lash to me, but I'm not expert. I hope you are able to find the root of the problem.

Thank you. She has lost at least one pound since Sunday and no longer "fights" her health check, just sits there tolerating all I do. She used to chat with me the entire time, tonight, she was quiet, a little wimper now and again. It's breaking my heart. At this point I feel like I'm throwing melting ice cubes on a raging fire.
