Message About Potential Virus On BYC

I have been trying to access different threads on BYC but I am getting a message from Chrome not allowing me to access certain BYC pages, The message says that Google Chrome has blocked access to www.backyardchickens because of content from cm.netseer.com, a known malware distributor,. It says that some type of Malware has been inserted into the byc webpage and visiting this page (BYC) will infect my computer.

I could only get a snap shot of the message and copy and paste in a word document. It would not allow me to take a snap shot pic and post on BYC. I had to access BYC another way so taht I could type this message. Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

Did yours look like this?

Firefox is fine.. Chrome is the browser that keeps giving me the warnings.. doesn't matter which page of the forum I go to either

YES!!! That's it!!! That is exactly what it looks like.

That's exactly how it happened on the other forum. People started to get locked out via Chrome, but then Firefox finally caught on and that too locked them out. I can't get back onto that forum without going past a ton of PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK messages and even then it still bumps me out.

For them it ended up being an AD or something, from Google ads maybe? I don't quite remember, but it was MONTHS ago and they just got their site back up again. However Google remembers sites that had Malware problems and still doesn't want me to go there again.

I really hope it can be taken care of before the same thing happens here!

I told my husband I thought it was one of the sidebar ads. When it first started it would let me on one time.. then block me the next.. then let me back on..like a sidebar ad that only pops up here and there... now it's consistent on Chrome.. so I switched over to firefox.

If all else fails I still have my phone. But connecting to any forum on it is slow as mud.

The site just came back after being suspended and this is the most recent theory for what happened:

"Yes, the site was never actually infected. We were getting a lot of spam accounts that were posting with links to spam sites on UB. This is why UB is being flagged as hosting malware. We had to update the software for UB in order for us to get help taking care of it. The site now looks funky due to the update and we're still working to get rid of all traces of malware posted on UB. This takes time and the admins and moderators have other things going on and there's only so much we can do on our end."

It's been doing that to me on a couple different sites today. Since I have a different anti virus I just went ahead and turned off Malware Notifications.
