Note that my metal coop does not get ANY hotter than the ambient temperature, due to the high convection ventilation, and that nifty 120V fan.
The coop is well shaded so that also contributes to the managed temperatures. So in short, I would disagree with the blanket statement, "Metal coops get too hot."
