17th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-Along

Got all mine set. 🥚 🐣

Some were shipped eggs, most are mine. Excited to see some of my newer chocolates and mauves finally! It's been mostly red pyle, partridge, paints, and cuckoos up until now.

I'm not even sure what the shipped eggs are as I thought I was getting a mixture of her silkie varieties like splashes and blues, but every egg says MOT on it. To me, that means mottled. 🤔

I’m so bummed!!!
I didn’t know about this, (as I haven’t been with BYC quite a full year yet).
I set my eggs 3 days early…
I’m hatching April 1st and 2nd.
Can I still be in?😁

I’ve got a dozen Polish, (my very first ones)!!!
And 17 BYMs from my own flock!

BTW:
For anyone who noticed, that thermometer is super off on temp, but it’s spot on with humidity. That’s the only reason it’s there

I forgot that the easter hatchalong sets eggs to hatch the day before Easter, oops. At any rate we were out of town all day yesterday so I still would have had to set today anyway.

I have 56 eggs, 24 malines and 32 buckeye, going into the incubator. My malines are the dominant roosters, so I expect most if not all of the chicks to be malines and malines crosses. But I do have 2 buckeye cockerels out there, so there's a chance for pure buckeyes and sex linked buckeye/malines.

This is going to be exciting for you to have Polish for the first time!

I'm not too into those breeds, but it's going to be fun to see them!
