Metal or Plastic

What do y'all prefer. Metal or plastic feeder/waterer for chicks?

I use galvanized steel feeders and waterers. They make them all the way down to chick sizes.

I have always used plastic and rubber.

Always done plastic. From chicks to adults. Never used metal for anything. Now use horizontal nipples in a bucket for water, but this was the evolution of what I used to use.

I use plastic, they're inexpensive and readily available. I have the same feeders that paneubert linked above.

My adults have the galvanized feeders and open dish plastic for water.

And somehow those quart feeders and waterers reproduce on their own......I looked in my garage this morning and I have probably 5 of each. No idea where they all came from.

I've always gone the affordable, plastic route. Only downside is how flimsy/brittle they become once frozen.....can't begin to count how many times broken feeders and waterers needed replacement around here.

I use the plastic stuff for chicks. Light, cheap, easy to clean. Even the galvanized stuff will eventually corrode.
