Metal roof question

Vertical is best and the only way I've ever seen it done. Horizontal will allow water to pool and probably leak or get moldy. I have a metal roof on my hen house that is vertical.

Okay thanks. It will just take more panels that way.

Carports are all done horizontally.
Just make sure the higher pieces overlap the lower ones

Doing a roof that way also takes less lumber.

With the right type of metal, your rafters can be up to 5 ft apart

Bobbie.......the corrugations do two things. They give the tin strength over a short span, and they form a channel to direct water flow. John H said, horizontal would defeat the purpose of the channel.

It's less than ideal, but you could do it that way. Just remember to tilt it enough so the water runs off. Sorta like they do with gutters. I can't remember, but I think it's about 1 inch rise for every 10 feet or so.
