Metal vs. plastic

I prefer the plastic feeders. They are cheaper. Last a while. And you can easily disinfect them with bleach. I also like the plasitic waterers because I can use apple cider viniger in them, and I can also see where the water level is at.

Why not make your own? There have been pictures on her with plastic jugs with a small hole about an inch from the bottom sitting in a plastic pan or cut down bucket. And I have seen plenty of wooden feeders (as said earlier) that have lasted for years. There is one in our family's barn that is older than me, much older, and I am 37. I may have to "borrow" that old feeder for my coop.
