I ordered from Metzer and they were supposed to be here this week, but they called and said that they hadn't shipped them yet because they didn't have a male Tufted Buff. I could've either had them ship the next day with a normal buff, or in 2 weeks with my original order. I chose 2 weeks.

I understand that it's hard to know when you will or won't have enough birds to fill every order, but I placed my order almost 2 months ago. I can't help but think that they filled other (bigger) orders before mine, since I only ordered 8 ducklings and 2 geese. It's frustrating, but I understand.

Still can't wait to see my babies.

Poor you...how sad, but on the other hand. I placed my order just days after Christmas (Merry Christmas to me). And I had to wait till Feb to get a date. And they told me that they fill the orders as they come in and are paid for. So it sounds more like a cause of mother nature sending out more females then males. I wouldn't blame Metzers at all. You'll see when you get your order that there is an order number on it. And I know they fill by when they are received.

Sorry, but trust me it will be well well worth the wait. These babys are doing amazing. So healthy, so strong, so very social and don't forget so much stinky poop...lol

Try to be happy that they just didn't ship you your oder with no male...be thankful that they called and didn't think you weren't important enought to call. Trust me I love Metzers and think all company's should model their customer service after theirs.

I am not blaming Metzers as I know there's nothing they can do about what genders are hatched, and I know they are very responsible and I'm glad that they did call me and give me the choice. Though it is troublesome, I understand, and I would much rather wait for my order than get a different one. And I am thankful that it's only 2 weeks in stead of a month, that would drive me crazy in anticipation.
