Metzer farms sexing ducklings

I ordered 3 females and the order sheet included has each duckling checked off.
Each had a leg band. 2 were banded on the left leg. 1 was banded on the right leg.

Is what leg they were banded on indicative of their gender??



I just emailed Metzer's - figured I may as well go to the source to ask

when I got ducklings from Metzer, the back of the invoice gave a cheat sheet regarding how the ducklings were banded by sex.

Yep - that's what their response to my email was.
I never even looked at the back of the invoice. I only looked at the front when I noticed 1 band was on a different leg than the other 2. Since each duckling was checked off next to the F, I figured they knew they were supposed to put females in the box. So I removed the bands and we went on our merry way
