Mexican Wild Turkey

OK so how do we find someone who has these?

Where can we look?

I'll be moving in a year and I wanted to have room for adding turkeys and I want some of these really bad.

Has anyone found them by googling or ???

There has to be someone who has them. Maybe in the border areas.

Found more pics!!!

They are a tropical bird only found in the yuctan peninsula and will not even handle a northen mexico winter. They usually don't breed in captivity and not many people have them. If you find eggs, they will be a few hundred dollars per egg and not very fertile. I would love to have some also but too expensive and my wife wouldn't like it in the house with us for the winter.

There are some breeders in south flordia and south Texas.

OH good luck!

I swear if I had the room I'd go in on some with you to build a bigger flock.

I have to find something cheap. I want land!

They are about $3000 - $ 3500 per pair when you find them. I am looking into getting some of these in the future.. just don't have the time right now to care for them. They require meal worms, fruit and other special diets.

On the permits - check your state. I would think you have a 50 - 50 chance of whether they will issue you a permit.
