Meyer delivery today!

You wrote that four days is too late. Well, I ordered from a new hatchery, can't remember the name.

After paying extra for 24 hour shipping the chicks and ducklings came on the 4th day. That would Make them 4 or 5 days old I'm guessing. I was quite angry, but they all made it.

Looking for food.

Cute and happy little workers you got there.

The dish on the left. Is it a ceramic spoon holder? I use those as first dishes too. Also use one on the top of the tea cup to keep the tea warm. I don't think I ever use them to hold a spoon.

red chik i guess male part of straight run. clean legs.
This one is most likely your homestead helper (free roo). I’m in a FB group for IDing Meyer’s chicks and 99% of the time they send a RIR chick that looks exactly like this for the free male.

One is a lid, one is a spoon holder.

Chicks with bluish bills may be zombie chicks, a new breed.

Zombies would be Fibro, dark black from hatch.

This blue looks more like an oxygen issue to me, it's in some toes too, possibly from stress, but I wasn't sure so didn't want to say anything... Hopefully if that's what it is they will perk up by tomorrow. Sugar in the water can help.

I ordered speckled Sussex from Meyer hatchery, they arrived alive and healthy, one died about a week later, from what idk.
I didn’t get any free ones.
You do have to ask for free ones. Meal maker female, flock protector male. I never worry about males they raise like a hen and until they crow are not a problem. (I also hope beyond hope the mistake a female for male.) I try and find a home for friendly males. If not, that is what my dog eats.
