I love their customer service!

That is great! I know, their customer service is amazing! When I first ordered, they did not have any female Easter Eggers available. When I went on the next day, (I know it is weird but I like to go on their website and just see what they have available just for the fun of it.

) I saw that they now did. I started a live chat and they let me remove one of the other breeds and replace it with the Easter Egger. Then the day that they were going to hatch I saw that they had female Blue Laced Red Wyandottes available. They let me switch my order again even though it was the day before they shipped them.

I also discovered that on hatch days, early in the morning, they have a bunch of rare breeds available for a short amount of time. I was on at 9:30 am on July 15 and they had Blue Orpingtons, Lavender Orpingtons, Blue Laced Red Wyandotte, Blue Copper Marans, and many other rare breeds that had been males only, available. Within hours, they were taken and put back to male only.

Lynn you know what that means! More chicks! Cause you gotta spend the $17.. What are you gonna get?! Lol

Chickenpooplady- I look several times a day too, I'm sure we aren't alone either!

Well, I found out why Sunni can't eat or drink on her own. We looked down her throat with a flashlight and her throat is swelled almost all the way shut from the trauma of having something stuck in there. She can swallow water from a syringe no problem, but the wet food she can't. So all we can do is try and keep her hydrated until the swelling goes down enough that she can eat.
I wonder if she tried to eat a bee and got stung? Or ate something that caused an allegic reaction? Wishing you and Sunni all the best

I've seen lost of info on here about tube feeding. If it comes to that I think there's even pics on it.

My Crop Tube Feeding Journey With My Bird (Pics For Visuals- VERY detailed Post) is one of the posts

I hope you don't have to but at least theres lots of info if you need it.

Try to give Sunni some children's diphenhydramine liquid to see if that helps. About 1 mL of the liquid, maybe less since she's younger. Just get her to drink it from a syringe like you have been with water. Tube feeding was my second thought, but if her throat is irritated, it may not be a good idea. Is it just plain water that you've been giving her? I would mix up some vitamin/electrolyte water to give her so that she's at least getting something in her system. Hoping for the best for her. :fl

Great advice, and if it is weird, I guess I am weird too.

I really should have stuck with the 14 I have, if by chance one of the other ones I want is available, I will most likely swap out some of the ones on my order. I wish my coop would hold 30, but 20 is the limit. So with 16 coming and 6 that I now have, well I guess this is chicken math at it's best.

I check ALL the time...even though my coops and brooders are bursting at the seams

Another member of this elite club!

MsChickenMomma: I hope Sunni is doing okay.

Nancy: Any more eggs today? Ash broke her streak and didn't lay one today, but the past 4 days she has. She did finally go in the nest box, so I hope she actually lays an egg in it tomorrow. I keep having to go on an egg hunt each day.

We are going to have to put Sunni down tonight. She is in a lot of pain, and we found a large bump just below her waddles that we are almost positive is the thing she got stuck, and it didn't go down like we thought. She is having trouble breathing, and now she is having a hard time swallowing water. The only way we could possibly get whatever it is out is with surgery, and that just isn't something we can afford. She is clearly suffering, and I think the best thing to do is just put her down. :hit

Right now I'm sitting on our screened in porch with Sunni laying on my chest, and I can't stop crying. :hit

I believe you have made the right decision but I know it's still hard.
