As usual, if you complain the girls will produce...

here's my take today...

The only one I know for sure is Izzy's green one. The lighter one may be my Cochin's and the other an RIR but
also as usual, they laid these while I left the house today for 45 minutes. I swear they're doing it on purpose

Beautiful eggs!

Amber is doing the same. We got home this afternoon and picked her up from our friends house and brought her home. We cleaned her again and put more ointment on her. Her comb is still dark red and she is eating and drinking. She only flinches when you touch her bottom. I think her vent got ripped from her tailbone but it's hard to tell. The vent itself is still intact and she's pooping ok so we haven't done anything with it. Hopefully it doesn't impact her if it heals that way. At worst she'll just get a little pasty butt if it doesn't point out enough. I trimmed all the feathers under her vent so her poop will stop sticking to it. If we can keep infection at bay I think she'll make it.

Very cute, I never had a Silver Spangled Hamburg. How many chicks did you get?

Those are some beautiful eggs. Love the speckled one too!

That's neat too that you get double yolkers, so far none for us. (that's me complaining

- now hopefully I'll get one)

It's a chicken conspiracy! They watch until you leave! Mine do the same

Poor Amber, glad to hear that she eats and drinks and still has the red comb.

Glad to hear Amber is hanging in there. I'm sure you were glad to be home to help her. Even though you had great help, as a 'mom' (even to chickens) we want to be there to do everything we can.

silver spangled Hamburg
I don't know why I didn't really look to put this on my list of 'wants' but they sure are pretty all grown up! I hope you post pics as they grow!!

I also never considered the Golden Lakenvelder I think because the pic on Meyer is so strange looking. But I just looked at pics of them and gosh, they are pretty. Lynn- you're getting one right?? Can't wait to see them!! ONLY 3-4 more days!!!!!!!!!!
