I dream about my chickens almost every night.

I know I had one last night, but I can't remember what happened.

He is a beautiful boy! Love those buckeyes of yours. I'll have to look into those Meyer buckeyes in a year or two.

You had truly wonderful results. Congratulations! They are beautiful birds, perhaps you don't have as much work to do as you profess. But what do I know ?

Thank you and yes the color is not right on them but it is something to work with

All this talk of eggs and I dreamt of finding my first egg...it was square! LOL and my babies are only six weeks old. All four: Olive: Apricot, Kiwi, and Persimmon: Persimmon:
Very pretty!! Is Apricot a Buff Brahma? And Olive is very pretty... Light Brahma? What are the other 2?
Thanks! Yes Apricot is a buff brahma, olive is a light brahma, kiwi is a Delaware, and persimmon is a production red, I think.

Persimmon looks identical to my Golden Buff which I think they also call Production Red.

I dream crazy dreams about my chickens too.

I'm 99% sure our Cochin is laying. I haven't caught her in the nest box at all but I think that's because she's an early morning layer when I'm busy getting ready for the day. She did squat for me yesterday for the first time though. :)

There was some debate over her on one of these threads but I honestly don't know enough to make my own decision.

Someone on the cochin thread said to drop food coloring on the vent of the chickens you are curious about their eggs or if they are laying yet. Since I can't catch our cochin in the act, I tried this. I did 2 drops of a different color on each brown egg layers vents. Our BA (Sky) laid and it had a tiny streak of blue on it! Hopefully the rest will work and at least 3 of them will lay! Our Partridge Rock is in the nest now but sometimes she just sits there and doesn't lay.

Easy way to figure things out!
