Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

Hello everyone! Seems like a lot of Meyer babies right now, maybe you can help with my Enigma chick!

First of all though, I ordered 16, hatched on Mon 2/24/14, received today 2/26/14
I ordered a mix

3 Brown leghorns
5 Golden Buffs
3 EE's
A trio of Buff Brahmas
And a Partridge Cochin (for my son)
Plus the MMM

I received 16 chicks
One DOA was a Golden Buff
Which leaves me with 15 (one was touch and go but finally started drinking and seems fine now.)
I easily identified all but one!

The partridge cochins are a mottled brown - gray with cream underside and wing tips.
This little dude has the feathered feet, is black with a white underside, and has a white dot on his head. The dot makes me think he is a barred auto sexing breed.

Anyone see any chicks like this before? He is only lightly feathered, I just wonder if he isn't a mix breed of some sort, although I was assured by customer service this was not possible

!!!!

Regardless my son is in love

Yes the Dominiques and cuckoo marans look like that too, but none should have feathered feet!!! Customer service said that we will have to wait and send in pics of it when it's older to recieve a credit for not getting the bird we ordered.

Cute little one whatever she is!

FYI: the golf ball trick is working. I saw the girls eat that first egg. Put the golf balls out that day. One more eaten the next day. But now, two days with no signs of egg eating. Great little trick.

Technically Marans should have feathered legs so I've been told... so maybe??
You're going to have a beautiful egg basket in several months!!

I think I do already!!! These little ones are an addition to my layer flock. I hope to add some Wheaten Ameruacanas and some BC Marans later this year. I think some marans are supposed to but most of the hatchery seem to be clean-legged.

I believe that Meyers blue copper Marans are prone to have fethered legs. Blue does not breed true 25% black 25% splash. It would be understandable that they would use dark and light chicks out of that that batch to put in rare assortment orders and any extras. Should be a good one. From what I hear meyer works verry hard to maintain there reputation as leader in that industry, sending out cross breeds would be damaging to that reputation. Not saying that it could not happen but if you can prove it did it would make them a bit nervous to say the least!

I am sure, the lady scoffed at the possibility LOL (weirder things happen)! Either way though, I did not get what I ordered, I would be satisfied if he turns out to be a Maran, but I was excited about adding a cochin to my flock!

Ok I thought it was an extra. I got mine in 2 weeks ago. Here is my partridge cochin
400
something to compare with. You might talk to someone at Meyer and ask if you can email them a picture to look at and tell you what it looks like to them.
