just sayin'... LOL... that's what we're here for....

That's absolutely my plan...

But you know I'm going to look every single day just in case

If I see 1 female, I will snatch that one up so fast!
or how bout a Cream Legbar if you can't get an Ameraucana?? Pretty blue eggs with them and able to be sexed at hatch so you know you'll get a pullet!! Or one from the rare Marans collection?? Nice dark eggs there... or.. OK, you get the point. But maybe people can chime in, I think the Polish are a bit delicate?? Me thinks you need 6 . Yup, at least 6

The cream legbar is a gorgeous chick and would be a wonderful addition to my flock...but they currently don't have any of those on my hatch date on July 14 either. I will keep an eye out for that one too. Either or. Blue eggs would be pretty!

I love the Polish chicks and hope mine do ok!!! Actually, I hope all my babies do ok!!!

Well, to be honest, I checked everyday too!
And how I only ended up adding one extra to my order the day of pickup I will never know.... I guess it was because I'm really trying to just add a couple chicks each year so the ages of my flock are varied :)

Oh no, I am sorry you are having so much trouble and losing so many.

That's very nice of the guy to give you another chick and great that you have an offer...now the hard part...packing!!!
I hope that you can find another home soon to move into so you're not moving twice.

It sure is an addiction...you won't get help here...we're all addicted...we'll just feed the addiction more!

So 5 hens and a roo?...well everyone that has seen my chickens think I have a roo already, so just tell everyone that you have a roo and go ahead and get 6 chickens. People will believe you. There are many people out there that assume that you need a roo for the chickens to lay eggs. So 6 chickens that works...I tell everyone I have 16, but somehow I count 21...

...see I am not helping!!

Our CCL didn't make it through the day. :( Luckily our BLRW seems to have made a full recovery though. :)

The buyer for our house pulled out. Their first choice came back on the market so they went for that one instead. Hopefully we'll get another soon. We have had a lot of showings so someone has to come through!

We already have another house that we are buying so we won't need a temporary place as long as everything goes as planned. We are buying a place on 5 acres with a loafing shed and chicken coop. :)

My leghorns did the same but both are girls. Hopefully one is just growing slower. I've lost track, how many total chickens do you have now? When do you get your new coop? Will you keep both sets separate?
I forgot to answer this part... I have 11 14- month olds and 7 3-week olds and hopefully the coop is coming this weekend but I'm thinking not till the weekend of the 24th. If it's the 24th I'll put them right out there in it. I'm probably going to move them to the garage this week. 3 weeks in the house is enough for me. And as of now I'm thinking I'll keep them separate but I don't know what they will do. They will have their own little run that will connect by a little pass through/tunnel to the large run. I'm not sure if they will want to stay by themselves or will try to move into the big girl coop. But eventually they will move in there because then every time I get new ones they'll start out on the small coop.

Aw jeeze. So sorry about the CCL. I'm glad the BLRW made it. I'm assuming it was cocci?
Hopefully you get another offer on the house soon. When we moved 20 years ago we were lucky the first offer went through to completion. It was such a pain to have the house spanking clean all the time and with a toddler around it was a hassle to leave all the time for the showings. Does the new house need much work? and how's the coop, that's the important part.

Just got an e-mail from Meyer........my babies have been shipped. YEA !!!!! They called me this morning to let me know my olive egger & buff chantecler didn't hatch. I chose a Golden Laced Wyandotte & a Speckled Sussex as replacements. They are including a free assorted Cochin too. Can't wait to get my chickies.

So...any updates yet? Are your chicks arriving today??!!! I'm jonesing for some fluffy chicky pics!!!!

I've already checked once this morning

Yes, I know that the likelihood of them adding chicks on a Tuesday - Friday is very small since their main hatch day is Monday. I DON'T CARE!!! I will stalk those breeds multiple times per day just in case!!! And if either of them come available on the hatch day of the rest of my flock, I will buy it asap!

I'm sorry the CCL didn't make it..I wonder what was wrong with this batch? The chick stage is so hard.

Sorry too about the buyer pulling out. I'm sure you'll have more offers soon.

That's great that you have another house lined up, 5 acres? Awesome...that is exciting...I bet this waiting stage is so hard for you.

You have a nice plan. So 18? Nice amount! You're going to have a lot of eggs in a few months!

Yup, it is so nice to get them outside, I remember those dusty days! If you ever get a chance once your coop arrives, I'd love to see the setup, if you have a chance to take pics.It sounds so neat.

Our fence is going up today...well maybe..it was supposed to be put up last week, then the weekend, now they are saying today. Always something comes up and it is delayed. They do have all the posts in the ground as of yesterday and cemented. They cured over night and the fence and gates should go up today. Apparently though, some of the workers that were supposed to be here early this morning, partied too much last night and they have not arrived yet. So if they show up we'll have a fence!!

We have been waiting 3 years for the city to complete all their work on our land..it is in the final stages now...I have hated all this waiting...it's driving me crazy!!!

I also check everyday! Don't worry, we have different delivery dates ;) But I have seen them added a few times and on weird days. I guess it's about hatching, late hatchers, and people canceling orders. :fl
