Yay!! What kind do you have and what did you get? Also, feel free to post lots of pics...hehe.

I'm pretty excited, I think I may only have 1 BLRW rooster! I was thinking a week ago that both of my splashes were males, yay!

I will have update with pics later, its been horrible weather up here in MI. Rain everyday with wacky warm to cold weather and tornado warnings.

Yay! I've heard they are hard to sex because even girls develop combs early. Good luck.

They are quite difficult, but they are also my first BLRW. I can normally accurately sex my chicks around 4 weeks but these guys just keep my guessing. They are 8 weeks old on Sun/Monday. One of the blue pullets is a little larger than the splash cockeral and had me suspicious for a while, but she is most definitely a girl.

Gotcha. If you're handy and it doesn't need to be water proof I would just build a 3 sided box with top and cut outs on 2 sides for ventilation and then put it inside the partitioned area. Or buy something like this?

Amazon has some dog houses or cheap small coops with free shipping. They're not really predator proof but if you put it in a predator proof run then it would be ok.

Just saw this on Amazon... price is right... LOL

Thanks so much for looking!!! I am pretty handy and I am sure my husband has some more plywood kicking around. I am sure I can make some kind of structure for them. You definitely gave me some ideas.

I like that! Especially the price.

Yeah, then you have it for future "assimilations"

You're right, if I make or find something decent, I can use it again if I have to quarantine for any reason. I might check out a Re-Store (habitat for Humanity store) that just opened in my area to see if they have anything that I can use. I want something I can reuse that is cheap or free, not too much to ask for, right?
Wish me luck!

Finally let the chicks out into the run. My son had to shoo a few out, but, once they got outside, they loved it! The "rooish" acting Delaware was the first one out.

It's going to be tough getting them back in!
