Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

A lot of that is the breed, too, NNancy. I've gotten 13 chicks in a brood, 7 Easter-eggers and 6 barred Plymouth Rocks, and they're probably the friendliest birds I've ever had. Meanwhile, last year's girls were in a brood of 5 and I can almost never touch the partridge Plymouth Rocks.

My sweetest chicks are the barred rocks, the BO and the blue cochin. One of the EE's is starting to be more trusting with me but the other EE is super skittish. My CW and SLW do not want to be touched and the RIR's don't like it either. My dominque seems sweet but when you go to pet her she bites.

Of my new chicks the my Salmon Faverolle is the friendliest and the White Rock and Golden Laced Polish are pretty friendly too. The BA, Welsummer and Brown Leghorn don't really like to be touched. It is hard to give individual attention to each chicks.

I am having a lot of trouble integrating these 6 into the flock, my older chicks can be so mean.

Only three of my nine chicks actually like to be pet and held. The other six are really skittish. The three that are really sweet are one of the White Leghorns, one of the EE's, and one of the BO's. The others love to eat food out of my hands and climb all over me when I pick shavings out of the food, but the second I try and touch them they freak out :gig

Okay, here is more chick pics!!! Mine are almost 4 weeks old, my Golden Laced Polish is the cutest thing ever with her little mohawk:

She is also getting so much of that golden laced feathering in.

Here is Lucy the Salmon Faverolle, she is turning out so pretty too. I need to get a picture of her on the inside of the fence, this pic does not do her justice.

Yahoo, Black Austrlorp

Daisy - White Rock

Izzie- Brown Leghorn (I hope she is a girl, her comb is bigger then the others, but maybe that's the breed?)

Wilma- Welsummer (her and Izzie still look so much alike)

They are all doing great and growing fast! I'll try to update pictures of my 15 week olds next week. One of my RIR's looks ready to lay soon. Hope so!!!!

Yes to the updated 15 week old pics... I'd love to see them! And I can't wait until you get your first egg. That will be awesome!! AND that means mine may only be a month after yours :)

OK, I feel better that it's not just mine! But I like them anyway even if they don't want to cuddle

I'm loving my babies! They all seem to be doing well. The CW is walking fine, my BO vent still protrudes a bit, but doesn't seem to cause her any problems. Those two are definitely the most skittish chicks chicks and are feathering out the slowest. My white rock Bianca though is super sweet, she hops on my hand whenever I put it in the brooder. The EE is the scratchinest, diggingest chick I've ever seen! She is also feathering in fast, getting some little tail feathers already. I want to give them some treats, but there seems to be alot of debate on when you should start that and giving chick grit?

I've always understood it as you can give them treats any time, but you have to start giving them chick grit as well so that they can digest those treats. Also, give them treats in moderation! We don't want them spoiling their supper.

Anyone get ducks from Meyers? I was thinking of adding some to my order. Would they even ship chicks and ducklings together or would I have to pay another $40 for shipping?
