Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

So I'm pretty sure limabean's chicks are two boys and a girl. They will be 8 weeks old tomorrow, so I'll know for sure soon enough. They are pretty flighty, which duh, I shouldn't have let a flighty pullet hatch. Anyway, guess who's at it again?! Golf balls only for her this time! My buff brahma, Apricot, gave it a shot for one day. She is such a sweetie. She would probably raise some really sweet babies if she would stick to sitting.
My list for next year has been narrowed down! LOL. I know, it's still too early to tell. But I'm sold on the silver penciled rock. Anyone have one yet??? I have to have one! And an Olive egger and an exchequer leghorn. Yep, that's all

Would love to see pics of them!

Sounds like a nice looking group for next year. Silver Penciled Rocks are beautiful! I saw one at a show last year from a local breeder. I would really like a Silver Penciled and Partridge Rock in the same brood, probably not going to happen next year though. We want something black, something red and something blue... or lavender.

Check this out- a chick with two beaks!!

I am a little behind on my Meyer Birthday Monday photos, but I thought I would post this one for now. I did go outside and take a ton of pictures of the older chicks, so that's what's taking me so long to edit and post them.

Their are 3 that look all the same (2 roos and a pullet I think) we ordered the adopt me ones so they can be just about anything. I was hoping maybe someone had received chicks like these and knew what they grew into.

Could they be Olive eggers? Look mostly like a golden cuckoo marans to me. Does anyone have one that looks similar?

OK, so my Meyer girls are naughty copy cats! Today they are sitting up on the fence rail with the turkeys.

It's not bad enough that they sit outside the dog run and make my dachshund bark all day, now they have to tease her by acting like they are going to jump in with her:

Now for the outside girls. They are 12 and 13 weeks old already. My how time flies!

Here is Aggie.

The girls checking out the next youngest group of chicks in their hoop run. Those are my 7-9 week old Cream Legbars and Black Langshans.

Blossom:

Blossom has turned out to be blue laced after all, and not the black variety. But at least she has nice, dark lacing, and I'm very happy with how rich her red ground color is coming in. Maybe I will get a black laced one next year.

Here she is with Corabeth, the Olive Egger.

More Corabeth. She has the pea comb, so I assume they used Ameraucana for her mixture, probably with black copper Marans. I can't wait to see her eggs.

It's hard to get photos when they insist on being close.

Peppermint, starting to get a lot of red on her face. She is 13 weeks. Does anybody know what age Marans start to lay?

Edit: Oops! I forgot poor Gloria. Can't discriminate against the non-Meyer girl. Well, actually, I can no longer pretend to myself that he is a girl! But I can't think of a more masculine name.

He can stay as long as he behaves himself and isn't too noisy. He will have to get along with Westley, though, when the time comes for them to meet. Sometimes I call him Old Glory, but that's not really a name.

Hi, my name is Diana, and I am a chickaholic.

Love, love LOVE last week's two Easter Eggers, so I decided to get another one, and then I couldn't resist a Buckeye chick, since it's also been on my wish list, except that was supposed to be for next year....

But this puts me one chicken over my target of 20. It has to stop here!

Here are Gingersnap and Weetabix. They are 8 days old, leftover from the store's order from last week.

Gingersnap is the Buckeye

Weetabix appears to have some ear tufts. Unless lighter down just happens to be longer than darker down.

Last fall when I discovered chicken keeping, I was amazed at how awesome chickens are. I had no idea that baby chicks were even more awesome! I am going to have to start telling myself "No", and so far, I have no experience in NOT buying baby chicks!

Well, I did pass up on some that were not in keeping with my plans and wish list. I'm sure I do have some self control.
