Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

Here are the chicks, they have made their debut!

The barred rocks.

Two black Silkies, the smaller is named Lucky

Last but not least, the BA's

They are growing fast!!!

1 of my German Shepherds with a RIR chick, last week

Your chicks are adorable and I wish I could get a pic of my Corgi with the chicks. He's still terrified of them and runs away when I put one near him. He's such a wuss- chases fox, coons and deer from my yard but terrified of a chick!

It seems to me like it was around 3 months old when my girls started into a high-pitched cluck rather than a peep. I will look it up (I pretty much documented everything about last year's girls as they grew).

ETA: 2-1/2 months old, their voices began to change. I would still hear the occasional peep, but I would also hear raspy clucks and honks like their voices were cracking.

By 3 months old, they had fully transitioned to clucking, though it was slightly higher-pitched than the adults' clucks. I'm not sure at which point their voices changed to adult-tone.

Frou-frou, my blue splash Marans, apparently has been honking since she was 2 months old. Her honks have gotten deeper, but she has never really clucked as far as I know.

Thanks. That's funny- their voices cracking- can't wait!

i'm in PA near Phila. Snow and cold today. I can't wait to see them running around the 'run' when they are ready to go out. But we're still working on the roof. Hopefully it will all be ready in 3 weeks or so.
I love seeing people's pics of the chickens free ranging. They are always so pretty roaming around in the garden and grass. We have caught 12 raccoons so far and we have hawks galore. Not to mention the 2 fox that come to our yard at least 2 times a day- sometimes more. Yesterday my Corgi chased him/her away 3 times in a row. It just kept coming back. We seen them catch squirrels and chipmunks so they know this is a place to come for food. They're so pretty but I hate them at the same time! I'm so jealous of your garden; our deer problem is so extensive we can't have any kind of garden. We only have ground cover they won't eat, bamboo and grasses and anything poisonous to them.

I meant to ask you if you know what kind of heated dog bed you used. I was looking around on eBay at them and then I was thinking they would be 'poo-ing' on it all night so how do you clean it?

Also: for anyone with grown chickens... just wondering when they stop peeping? It's not bothering me, I think it's cute but I'm just wondering when they stop.
I'm glad that we do not have snow, we're right outside of Charlotte, NC, it is cold though. (I do love snow, but am ready for spring now) All the chicks were out and about again this am while it was in the 20's. I love to free range them too, so much fun to watch them discover new things. That was a lot of raccoons, we have a few, I hope not that many though.

We do have a fence around our entire garden, we have deer here too and rabbits.

The heated dog mat that we use is hard plastic, so it is easy to wipe off. I still have it in the coop, but I think they stopped using it because they are roosting at night, but just in case I leave it in there.

Oh and most of my chicks still peep, but I get an occasional cluck from my BO now and my SLW clucks already at 6 weeks. Maybe depends on the breed?

I ordered a baker's dozen wyandottes (and 8 RIRs for a friend) from Meyer back in early February.

They were so cute. They're getting really big now. All of the chickies arrived safe and healthy and are growing like mad. A couple of my GLWs have single sombs instead of rose, but that's to be expected with hatchery stock I suppose. The only thing that went "wrong" was that I had ordered some Columbian wyandottes and several BLRWs. They called me the day of shipping and told me they didn't have enough chicks to fulfill my order. I was disappointed but they replaced the missing chicks with GLWs and refunded me the difference. All in all I'd say I am happy with their service and the birds, so I would consider ordering from them again.

ADDED NEW PICS :) They are all 6 weeks old

One of the GLWs. You can see this one has an incorrect comb. I suspect this one might also be a cockerel. I am tentatively calling him/her Sam. I have 9 GLWs total.

SLW pullet, one of three. This one is Flora. The other two SLWs are Fauna and Merryweather (the fairy godmother's from Sleeping Beauty)

My singular BLRW. She is DH's favorite, he named her Audrey.

Farmgirl: Cute chicks, they're already a week old now, time flies!

astantz: What a sweet german shepherd. I wish my chow got along so well with my new chicks, she keeps looking like she wants to eat them. We may try to introduce them once they are more fully grown, so they can defend themselves a little more.

cuppycake: I look forward to your pics. I have a SLW and a CW, I really wanted a GLW, but the one I ordered died in shipping. One of these days I'll get a couple of those and a couple BLRW's. I really like the Wyandottes, such pretty birds.

cuppycake: Yes, single combs are actually pretty common in hatchery Wyandottes, so no surprise there. I agree that your single comb GL Wyandotte is a cockerel; he shows the black neck and mostly colored wing / shoulder pattern typical of young laced Wyandotte cockerels. Adorable birds. :)

Here are my 13 chicks at 6 weeks - They look more and more like chickens and less and less like chicks each day.
