Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

Black Australorp

Brown Leghorn or Welsummer

Golden Laced Polish

Salmon Faverolle - fuzzy legs, 5 toes and a beard too!

The other chick, Welsummer or Brown Leghorn

White Rock

They look so much alike, I'm not sure which is which, any ideas on these two? I should have a Golden Laced Wyandotte, a Brown Leghorn and a Welsummer. One is missing (think it is the GLW since neither is zig zag striped) does anyone have chicks that look like these? or any ideas? Of course they also could have thrown in another EE as my meal maker.

These seem so much more active then the other ones from February. So much fun, they are all so adorable!!! I sent an email to Meyer's to see what they say about the missing ones. Guess I am staying under my 20 count after all. My other chicks look like giant chickens now!

maybe you can sneak another few in with them next week? can Meyer ship you a few GLW/s for next Wed?? or maybe your TSC has a few different breeds to choose from?

You're funny, but I was wondering the same about TSC, if they still had some. Problem is they have a minimum of 6, and that's a little too much for me. I don't think Meyer's has more of the GLW's, but won't hurt to ask, I guess....

Well Meyer's has great customer service and they are working with me. They said that they do not understand why the 2 were missing since they put that they sent 8. I told them that I would take any at this point if they can send them this week or next. They'll still be young enough to add to the ones I just got. I just asked for no roosters, silkies, cornish x or polish. Oops, should have said no bantams....need to send another email now. Anything too different or small will be picked on...

OHHHHHH it's going to be a fun surprise!!!!! Yay!! Always fun to get more EE's too.... my 4 look completely different. But I would want more Cochins, a BO, more BB, Campine, GLW/SLW. And a Blue or Splash anything!! I could go on and on. Sadly, we can't fit anymore in the coop.

BTW, how is the ecoglow going? Did they sleep through the night under it?

I am not quite sure if I am getting more chicks or not, I am confused about the emails I have received from them. I guess I need to call.

The EcoGlow is awesome!! It was so quiet when I went to check on them this morning, I was so worried. I turned on lights and opened the curtains and they slowly came out one by one. Eventually they were zipping around the brooder like crazy. These chicks are so much healthier and energetic then my first batch. I even had one jump on the EcoGlow the 1st day. I remember when yours did that I could not believe it. The ones in February all looked so sickly and moved slow at 1st, it is like night and day, the difference. I don't have one yet (knock on wood) that I am worried about. Last time I had so many that I was worried about and concerned that they would not make it through the night. My guarantee is until tomorrow, but pretty sure they'll all be okay.

Meyer's Hatchery has awesome customer service, just have to say. I will be getting 3 RIR's next week to add to my current 6, so I will be back up to 9 chicks. I wanted more of a variety, but that is all I can get at this point that hatch within a week. I don't have a setup to have 3 separate places for chicks. These should be able to mix in with my current ones. I may need to separate them some in the brooder, not sure yet. Guess we'll see the difference in sizes next week.

Here we go again.....

One of these days, in a year or two...I am getting a Golden Laced Wyandotte, I have tried twice so far, guess it just wasn't meant to be.

Well at least you will be getting a ton of eggs with the RIR's!!
I'm glad you like the ecoglow! I just loved that they slept all night long and they could go and get warm whenever they wanted. You'll be shocked at how quickly they adjust to hanging out on top of the heater rather than under it. And no fear of fire
