Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

Boy, 36 posts today. I'm sorry I can't read or respond to them right now. We had a LONG day. We got up at 6 and just got home at 8:45 tonight.
My daughter made it through showmanship and came out with a smile on her face. This is amazing for her because she usually falls apart if she has to talk to someone. She won't even order her food or ask for something at a restaurant!
Our D'Uccle got 1st place and then scored Honorable Mention for the class (feather legged bantams). Our Partridge Rock got 1st place. Our BR got 2nd. And our BA got 4th, though he said that was the toughest group he judged all day because they all could've taken 1st. We got 4th because our BA is a little too heavy.
Overall a good day!
Congrats to your daughter! Great job! My daughter finally started overcoming her shyness the past few years, she is almost 20, so hang in there, they get over it.

Now she is very sociable.
Congrats on all the wins!! I think your D'Uccle is the cutest! They are on my list for next year
When I went to get heather for a feeding before I went to bed she was like a totally different chick! She was trying to eat by herself and had a lot more fight in her. And no fits since about 5 or 6. I have my alarm set for 430 to feed her and my husband gets home from work at around 930 10 and I will get up then to feed her again
Good for Heather, I hope she hangs in there. We found out that with recovery they start off a little slow, but once they start eating and drinking on their own the recovery is quick. I'd keep up with the electrolytes for a full week if you can to make sure they're all okay. We had it in the water and I just stopped adding it yesterday.

Somehow they rushed our order this time and we received the chicks a full day earlier. If we had gotten them a day later, we would have had 2 losses instead of the one. The rare breed, Sicilian Buttercup died the day after we received the shipment and the Columbian Wyandotte had to be nursed back to health, a day later they both would have been DOA. Shipping is so hard on them, plus I think in some areas the PO workers are not as gentle as in other areas.

I totally agree. When I went to pick up the chicks and ducks I could see the workers taking the boxes and spinning them around trying to see what was in there.

Heather is back in with everyone else now and is running around with them. I have been giving everyone some grogel every morning, wasn't sure how long to do it but ill do it till next wed. She was very eager to eat this morning.

Here is everyone finally together again! I'm very happy that heather looks like she is gonna make it. She is running around with everyone else, preening herself and eating/drinking by herself.

And the ducks enjoying a swim yesterday.

And I'm sure if they are a little weak and lay down they get trampled on by the others. That can't be good.
I think next time I will buy them from the TSC. I can order what I want from them and then pick which ones I want/look good if I get there early enough. Plus, I will only need a few. They have some great rare breeds too.

Love the chicks and ... Look at those ducks in the water!!! Soooo cute!

Well I've already added to my order for Aug 13th, I couldn't resist when I saw that there were Partridge Plymouth Rocks available...and then I had to add some Brahmas because I saw some at the fair (& I just HAD to have some ) and I added some Speckled Sussix for good measure. Now I just have to stalk the availability page on Monday morning

I just called Meyer about my two dead chicks. Their customer service was excellent. I lost a faverolle and the meal maker. Which was a free bird so I didn't expect anything for her. The woman said well, it could have been your Wyandotte, they look similar. (She was def. not my Wyandotte. She was the only one different chick.) anyway. She insisted that we credit for the Faverolle and Wyandotte. Neither are available in my August 17 hatch so I got to pick other birds. 2 speckled Sussex and a light brahma. So I'm getting an extra, yay. :)

They have AWESOME customer service. I don't think I've ever gotten an unpleasant person on the phone

They really do. I called today to tell them everyone was doing good and I told them about heather but she was doing better and the lady said just in case I'm gonna credit your account for the EE and she just put the credit towards my sept order. Even when I changed my orders a million times they were extremely nice about it.
