Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

Here's a couple pics of our meat birds. Sorry they aren't the best. I forgot my phone so I had to use my husband's which doesn't do well in low light. I took a pic of their enclosure but it didn't get emailed to me from his phone for some reason. They are inside their "cage" in the first pic with my husband feeding them. In the second pic they are in their "run". The small coop we used when they were a couple weeks old. Now we use it as an isolation area if needed (we have a rooster that was getting picked on so he's in there now).

Did anyone submit pics for the calendar? I've seen some pretty nice pics on our thread!!
That would be exciting if any of 'our' girls or boys made it :)

I let my girls out to free range for the first time this evening. I have never seen them so happy. They were racing around the yard, rolling in dirt, and chattering up a storm. Annie one of my Leghorns was the only one who was able to get up the ramp and back into the coop by herself at bed time. The other girls needed my help. It sure was strange seeing all 23 of my chickens running all over the yard.

It probably looked hilarious to all of the neighbors.

Sunni trying to decide if it's safe to come out.

Annie who was very hesitant to jump down from the ramp. She kept looking at me as if to say, "Do I have to?"

Sunni figured out she could climb through the fence within seconds of being out there.

Sunni, Lizzie, and Lucy (right).

Sunni, Amber, Daffodil and Alice.

(some of my adult chickens are in this photo too. They aren't from Meyer)

Lizzie, Lilly and Daffodil.

Great pics! I love seeing everyone's coops and chickens

I felt like taking pictures today, so here are my Meyer young'uns at 15 1/2 weeks old.

(They aren't great pictures, but the mosquitoes are terrible so I didn't spend much time on them.)

Rangi the Ancona:

Roha the Exchequer Leghorn:

Po boy the black Cochin bantam (from Meyer's Black Frizzle Cochin bantams):

We buy our food from Azurestandard.com.

We keep ours at someone else's farm. They are on a spot about 200sq feet with an 80sq foot run for their "coop". It is plenty of room for them.
We are headed out there in a minute to put them up for the night. I'll try to get a pic of them.
Thanks, I will check them out.

Beautiful ladies, it looks like they are enjoying themselves! I love your coop and run setup. Your girls are so big now!
That is a nice big area. My mom has a lot of land, but lives a about 45 minutes away, so that won't work. That is great that you have somewhere else to keep them. It looks like you have a lot of helpers there. I wish we'd have started this chicken thing a lot earlier when my kids were much smaller. The oldest is 24 and youngest 19, so they're all busy in their own lives now. Of course, they all want eggs though. Well, no empty nest syndrome here for me, I stay too busy now!

There have been some nice pics on here, I agree with both statements!

Not sure if I posted this one or not, but here is our chicks their 1st day out in their little free range area. You can see how much they have grown in the next pictures. That's one of the Cuckoo Marans, Ginger, the Golden Buff, Izzie, the Light Brown Leghorn and Splash, the possible Splash Blue Andulasion or Orpington.

Here they are all dust bathing in the dirt in the garden. There are a lot of them in the picture, some of them really blend in with the dirt and leaves.

Here is a "Where's Buffy?" picture....

Here is Ginger, the Golden Buff, they are 4 weeks and a couple days in these new pics. She is in her teenage awkward stage here for sure.

Here is Buffy rockin' her hairdo

I'll have to take a photo shoot soon of all my girls. Daisy our White Rock has been eyeing the nest boxes lately and staying near them a lot, so maybe soon! I had 5 eggs today, so if I find one more, I'll know she is laying too.

our D'Uccle was in the nest box this morning, but no egg yet. The last 2 days we've gotten 1 egg/day and both days they don't match our usual. I wish the chickens would just stay consistent with their eggs! It would make it a lot easier. One of these days we'll get more than 2/day. I thought we'd have more layers weeks ago! *sigh*

So cute! Buffy is the cutest thing. EVER!

I'm loving everyone's pics! I can't believe how big everyone has gotten.

The ducks got to swim in their big girl pool today and without being in a pen. And surprisingly they were not that bad to try and catch. I went and picked up 6 dozen crickets and between the ducks and chickens they were gone in about 5 mins. Next time I'm just gonna order 500 online for $25 shipped cause I spent $8 for 72 which didn't last at all. And I FINALLY got the silkies to put themselves to bed today without any help or treats!!

We successfully tube fed Sunni tonight. It went really fast and she did great. The whole process took about 5 minutes. She's so used to standing there for 20-30 minutes getting food squirted in her mouth, that when we were done she just stood there like, "that's it? Where's the food?"

NotableNancy: I was going to enter a couple of my pictures, but they said the size requirement for the pictures us 3000 pixels, and if I set my camera to take pictures that size the quality is terrible. I'm hoping to get a better camera soon.

LynnEBC: Do you by any chance have some pictures of Snow and Big Mama right before they started laying eggs? I'm trying to figure out when my Leghorns and Sunni will start laying. The leghorns combs are getting huge, and Sunni's has been getting a little bigger every day. I'm hoping for some eggs soon. :D
