Such pretty girls!!!! How is Sunni doing?
She's doing great! She still can't eat or drink yet, and I'm starting to think she never will be able to. Which is okay. It's easy to feed her, it's just a little time consuming.

I am getting really worried!!! I am hearing stories about how chicks ordered online always die... i ordered 4 chicks and live in Mass, Do you think they will die???
Wow, I'm impressed. Honestly, I don't think I could do that every day. You RoCK ChickenMomma!!She's doing great! She still can't eat or drink yet, and I'm starting to think she never will be able to. Which is okay. It's easy to feed her, it's just a little time consuming.
Boring us... ummm, no chicken talk bores meIm going to gone at the county fair all day tomorrow, and I think Lucy will most likely lay an egg while I'm gone. The space between her pelvic bones is almost 3 fingers, and she has been squatting like crazy today. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she lays tomorrow! I just hope she lays her egg in the nest box and not on the floor. Because my chickens will all be closed in tomorrow while I'm gone, and with 23 chickens running around, a tiny egg on the floor will most definitely be trampled.
Sorry if I'm boring all of you with my egg talk.![]()

Question for everyone...
Does anyone have a hen that acts like a roo? I'm just wondering if my dominant RIR is trying to be dominant towards me. She constantly follows me around and pecks me extremely hard, not little love pecks like my other girls do. Is that normal and if not, what do I do? She's getting kinda mean. She always sees me take the eggs because she's hawking over everyone's eggs maybe she's mad I'm taking them?![]()
I know for a roo you pick them up every time you see them. Maybe it will work for hens too. Just carry her around while you do stuff. It shows her you are dominant.
Thanks, guess I will have a lot of eggs soon too. That's adorable!!! I hope it's Daisy's![]()
I forgot to answer your previous question... yes, my BA's lay almost every day! You are going to have a TON of eggs when they all start to lay. I'm giving them away like crazy and I have 13!!
It's not boring, if that is the case, I guess I am just as boring too! Have fun at the fair, I'm sure your chicks and chickens will be okay. I have been having to lock my 22 up more often lately, the hawks are on the prowl. They fuss at me, but everyone is good.Im going to gone at the county fair all day tomorrow, and I think Lucy will most likely lay an egg while I'm gone. I have two that like to peck me too, one BR, Pepper and Big Mama the BO. Pepper hurts the worse and usually she wants a nice long pat down, she is the worst when it comes to squatting for us. I pick them up and carry them around awhile like you said, seems to work for awhile. Eventually they start doing it again though. I figured they want treats or rub downs.I know for a roo you pick them up every time you see them. Maybe it will work for hens too. Just carry her around while you do stuff. They are beautiful the Golden Campines!Love the Golden Campines photos. Congrats on the new eggs!
Well, just got a call from Meyer that my 8 broiler chicks won't be available week of the 23rd. I'll have to call them back to reschedule...or cancel. Wonder what happened?
I'm glad to hear it works, even for a little while. It's amazing how much they can hurt pecking through jeans! She can actually leave marks on me. I don't give her the benefit of the doubt though about wanting treats I think mine is just a little witch with a Capital B!I have two that like to peck me too, one BR, Pepper and Big Mama the BO. Just updating you all on my little flock from Meyers. They were 4 weeks old on Monday, the pictures were taken around 3 1/2 weeks old. They are growing so fast!

I'm going to stop with the pictures now, I don't want to get yelled at for posting too many.![]()
I didn't get pictures of my Light Brahma, Rhode Island Reds, or Silver Spangled Hamburg. I think I have 20 varieties not including the mixes I hatched that week and my 31 CornishX. Oh gosh, I don't need all these birds, I'm going to have to downsize.
