Hi! I just ordered 15 chicks from Meyer, including 3 welsummers and 3 Easter Eggers. Does anyone have pics of eggs laid by these breeds from Meyer?

I have a few with green legs that lay brown eggs so that doesn't hold true for me.No but I have seen a bunch and if the chickens have those blue legs, they lay a beautiful blue egg. I think the bluer the legs or greener the legs that seems the color you get in the eggs. "Wow, a crazy rhyme?" I could be wrong?Susie Q![]()
The young girls are 25 weeks old now, so 6 months and a day. Here are pics of them.
Dottie - CW - She is not very noisy and does not squat, she's pretty skittish. I think she is laying now, I still have not determined what shade of brown she lays yet.
Blackie - BA - Not sure if she is laying yet, she is huge though and does a kind of quick squat and run. So far I have not seen her in the nest box. I did find an egg in the run, so it could be hers.
Sweet Greta - EE - She used to be really friendly as a chick and then got skittish, but now she is super friendly again and loves to be petted and hops on my lap. She is the one with a noddle type comb. I just love her black beard.
Splash - She is getting friendlier but no eggs yet. (Blue Andulasion) She is my high flyer tree hopper. She is probably pouting here since I blocked off the tree that she flies into.
Zany - CM - lays dark speckled eggs - friendliest of my 2 CM's
Sally - Salmon Faverolle - She is just the cutest and sweetest chicken and I love her funny look. She lays a creamy almost white egg.
Rocky - She and Sally are noisy, They are so loud, always screaming at me. She is laying now too. She still looks like a chick in the face to me. She does have unusual coloring for a Partridge Rock
Andi- She laid her first egg today. Cute little white one. Blue Andulasion She also managed to escape the garden somehow after I hung up extra bird netting. I have mixed feelings about the Andulasions and the Campines. I love them but wish they would stay where their supposed too.
Lacie - I love all the Wyandotte chickens, they are so sweet. Her feathers are softer to the touch then the other chickens. She is laying now too.
Ginger - Golden Buff and super egg layer. She was my meal maker. She is really sweet and lays large eggs already and everyday too.
Buffy- Golden Buff Polish. I just love her look. She is much friendlier and will follow me everywhere. I just love her!
and here is one last picture of Olivia, she is almost a year now:

Wow, that's gorgeous!! That would sell at a little boutique for $250 where I live no problem! Maybe if you could find some little furniture for it it would sell better? But I'm sure that would raise the price.I agree no response means if your buying from them apparently they don't care about your money. If your in business, even if it's just a hobby, what a great way to loose a sale! How folks can do that I don't know, it's beyond me. There are very few jobs here since several major employers closed down so I work at home making crafts, raising chickens for eggs and selling it all at our local farmers market. I have 2 health food stores that want eggs this spring so I'm expanding my coop. I've tried putting stuff on Etsy but my stuff never seems to sell there.... I'll post a few pics of my crafts, maybe I'm not doing something right somewhere.

a doll house I made. What do you think?
I've had others say she looks like a Welsummer too. Rocky was one of my mystery rare egg layers, I need to determine which egg is hers. I think she is some sort of mix since she seems to confuse everyone as to what breed she is.Rocky looks like a Welsummer.
Don't be to surprised about Buffy... I have already gotten 9 eggs since the 17th from just one of my polish!
Thanks!Love the pics!
Yes, you should, your girls would just love them, they are so much fun! They are all so pretty, I need some of those EE's too, I love blue eggs...!!! So far they have the bluest I've seen!!! Gotta get me some of those...... Susie Q![]()
Wow, so sorry. Maybe there was some family trouble or some real reason they did not meet up with you? If they just decided to not meet up and are ignoring you, it is probably best that you did not get any eggs from them because people like that may not be honest in the first place. I believe things happen for a reason and usually if your patient good things will come your way. Sorry to sound so motherly and old.I'm so disappointed. The person we were supposed to meet for the bantam olive egger eggs didn't work. I don't know if they didn't show or we just missed them. They didn't even tell me the next day what happened. :/
I have to come back to UT next month and I'll be in AZ next week and CA the next so maybe I can find some eggs somewhere. Wonder if they would let me carry them on the plane.![]()
It's kinda neat that you have the ability to check out eggs and chicks in different states. I am more home bound with my job, especially since most of the time I am working from home! Our business is very local oriented.I travel for work. I can go months without traveling then times like this I have been gone at least 2 days a week for the last 3 weeks. I'd rather not do hatchery eggs or shipped eggs for that matter. I gotta be able to find something in one of those states! I have 3 people local to me that I'm going to get eggs from but I'd really like to find some bantam egger eggs!
I'm like you, I can't be rude! Maybe they don't have a cell phone since they never gave me their #. But why not an explanation the next day? I emailed and said maybe next time I'm in town we can try again... no response! Forget them! I'll have to find someone else.
Your work is so beautiful. I am sure there is a market out there somewhere for it. Don't give up! Your daughters are lucky to have such a crafty mom!I agree no response means if your buying from them apparently they don't care about your money. A quilt I made for my daughter Abby A Bonsai Tree I did
a doll house I made. What do you think?
I would have loved that when I was little! I had a Barbie house, plane and camper. (Maybe I should not admit thatIt looks much more impressive in person but I got liked all over but no buyers ever. I listed it for 4 months. I had it up for $250 and my mo-in-law finally got it from me for her friend but would only give me $100 for it. I made several others for friends and my mo-in-law had to have one for her store and it had to be black and white. I even put real lace curtains. The front door opens/closes, mini imitation flowers on the porch. I had used vintage print paper for the walls. I had the pattern for a kit doll house and cut it all out and painted the white house with black hearts for the trim inside and out. I even used real wood shingles and stained them. I even put the shingles in a real "staggered pattern". I'm a girl, but a genuine carpenters kid. I have more power tools than my husband has and it's really strange for him. So glad you liked the photos, I do this stuff all the time but don't have a clue where to market any of it.... you should see some of my cedar bird houses. My twin girls are always my inspiration, they ask for it, I can't buy it so I make it! Thanks for the great words! Susie Q![]()

Congrats, I hope they all arrive safe and sound. I'll post some pics soon of the eggs from my Meyer's girls.Hi! I just ordered 15 chicks from Meyer, including 3 welsummers and 3 Easter Eggers. Does anyone have pics of eggs laid by these breeds from Meyer?
Congrats! Those first eggs are the cutest aren't they?I got my 1st egg from one of my beautiful Buff Orpington babies I got from Meyer in August!! Its so tiny its funny!! But I can't get any pics to upload on the BYC app today.![]()
Beautiful EE! and I love those egg colors that you get. Your RIR lays a much darker egg then mine. The unidentified egg on the right 2 pictures above looks just like Daisy my white Rock's egg. She lays a light and shiny brown egg. My BR's lay light eggs but they are more dusty looking and not shiny. Maybe it is one of your rocks? You have a Rock, right?I have a few with green legs that lay brown eggs so that doesn't hold true for me.![]()
Above is one of my EE's, green legs brown egg.
Speckled brown on left is my Buff Brahma, middle is an EE (more green in person) and the one on the right I have no idea.
The green egg above is from one of my EE's and the dark brown is from my RIR. They're both a bit lighter in person but the brown is pretty dark for an RIR. My other RIR lays a light brown egg. I have a CM from Meyer and the RIR and CM are pretty much the same color.
The white is store bought for comparison.
The moral of the story is
we just don't know what color egg we'll get from a chicken bought from any hatchery. But I love my Meyer girls!!![]()
Thanks!Your girls are stunning!!! I love seeing everyone's chickens![]()

I'm still waiting on eggs from my BO's from Aug. 19 hatch! They were 22 weeks Monday. Along with my 2 other BR's, 2 EE's, and 3 other RSL's. I have one RSL that has been laying since last Tuesday faithfully. But everyone else needs to pay up! Lol!! Can't wait for my EE eggs. They are my fiancé's favorite.I got my 1st egg from one of my beautiful Buff Orpington babies I got from Meyer in August!! Its so tiny its funny!! But I can't get any pics to upload on the BYC app today.![]()
Beautiful! My RSL that started laying last Tuesday lays the darkest brown eggs much like your Maran!!Here's some eggs from my Meyer girls
Top Row left to right: Ash-RIR, Mini-Light Brown Leghorn, Rocky- Partridge Rock(I think she is a PR), Zany- CM, Lacie-GLW and Dottie-Columbian Wyandotte.
Bottom Row: Greta-EE, Olivia-EE, Daisy-White Rock, Ginger- Golden Buff, Izzie-Light Brown Leghorn and Cuckoo-CM
I posted this a little earlier, but since someone was asking about egg color with EE's, I'll add it here too- These are from my two new 6 month old EE's, and the camera does not do the coloring justice - I really lucked out with getting all green/blue layers. I have also lucked out with always getting girls, so far I have just gotten girls with all my shipments. I think maybe the ones that died during delivery were the boys? Possibly.
The one on the left is from my older EE, Olivia who is almost a year. It is a deeper and more olive green. It is beside one of the new layer eggs from above.
Here is the egg from my EE, Maddie- I no longer have her
