Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

Humidity is the reason. A big drop may keep the rest from hatching out. I'm pretty sure that was the mistake I made. I wouldn't know where to begin helping. I'm one of those that let them do their thing.
Ok thanks! That one finally hatched! It's crazy how after a pip and nothing for so long, then you go in to check and she's sitting there looking at you! 11 out of 14 is good! And I still have not given up on the other three. I think it helps that they were my own eggs so they were not put through all the shipping stress. Can't wait to hatch out some ameraucana's some day!

How exciting!! I know we are all looking forward to pictures ;) ;)

The second of my bottle cap watering nipples stopped working. Turns out the top little peg things are getting stuck. I cleaned them out and they seem to be working again. I guess I'll have to keep a better eye on them. My poor babies were thirsty this morning.

I also have fire ants in my dried meal worms! If you aren't familar with fire ants, you cannot appreciate their bites! So I will have to find a better sealed container to put them in. Thankfully the girls like to eat the ants almost as much as the meal worms.

Oh AND I'm growing algae in my auto waterer. Any good tricks to keep this from happening? I cleaned it out really well and adjusted the float so the bucket doesn't full as high and already have it in the most shady spot. I've read a touch of bleach is safe to mix in water, but I'm not sure how I feel about doing that on a regular basis.

My family used to put a little lemon juice in the water. But we lived in a cooler climate then and I have not tried it here. It seems like the alge out here grows no matter what you do!
I have just been Washington them out about once a week. Now that the nights are getting colder I have not had as much to clean the last 2 weeks

How about the product called Oxine? I bought a gal. from Amazon. Kills every bacteria and virus etc that affects poultry and is recommended for waterers as well. You only need a few
drops. Lots of info about it on BYC if you do a search. I have an oz. in a spray bottle with water and spray my shoes/boots after my job at another barn. Even though those boots never go near my coop/girls I still spray them before they go in my trunk.
