Exactly my case. My 7 dogs are distributed as follows:
4 (Pomeranian, Shelty, Greyhound mix and Short Haired Pointer) on my bed
2 (Boxer/Bull Dog mix sisters) on sofa
1 (Anatolian) curled up in front of fireplace
Everyone is quite comfy apparently but I have no place to sit or lay...go figure.
I too am an animal lover and constantly worry about the flock, cause I figure if I am cold, they surely must be.....funny it sounds a lot like our house as we have four dogs ourselves. They are dispatched as follows this am.
1 anatolian Sheppard lounging on big bed, I made in the living room out of a couple dog beds covered with a old down comforter.
1 Sheppard mix, on the couch
2 bully breeds - one on our bed and one on the couch
I was a my wits end yesterday as all the dogs kept trying to be on the couch and we had no where to sit, thus me assembling the big bed in the living room. The bully breed (two girls) are delicate, sort of lol, and have sweaters on as they tend to be cold in the winter due to their short hair. I never thought I would be putting sweaters on my dogs but totally get it now....the Sheppard boys seem to fair better in the cold. Diego, my anatolian fairs the best with cold and goes out with me every hour or so to check for eggs, so they aren't frozen.
I saw on the DIY thread of showing off inventions or tricks people have come up with on here a solution for keeping eggs from freezing, which I thought was pretty smart. They used the seedling heat matts and lined the nest boxes with that and have it set up on a thermal cube which controls the matts and when they turn on and when they turn of based on the temp outside. I will find the link, the thread has been a great inspiration for me and lots of ideas in there.

Here is the guys page that posted on the seedling heat matts, I don't remember what page it is on in the DIY thread as it is really long.
