Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

Did they all survive being shipped together?
They survived the shipping. I separated all of the smaller chicks into a separate brooder, including a couple of the LF that were getting shoved out of the food dishes. I think I lost 5 or 6 out of that full batch. I don't even remember what I did about it. I think I just got a refund that time. That was in April and I think the weather was decent so I'm not sure what happened. I know it's not my chick keeping skills because all of the ones I hatch or get locally survive (besides some polish a friend and I picked up the day they arrived at the feed store - but we both lost ours in separate homes while keeping many others alive).

They may both be Buff Orps but the chick in the last pic with the three looks like our Golden Buff Amelia did, lighter wing color and starting to get a little red.  If so she is probably Mango and the one above would be the BO from the breeder.  But I could be wrong, just look out for more red, also the GB tend to grow faster than the Orps.

Yes when we first brought marigold (the BO) home I could barely tell the difference between her and mango but now mango seems to look more like a golden buff with those red splotches.

Today was the first day I let everybody out of the run. The little ones didn't eventure past the step, but it was the first time Peppy has had the courage to go out. Of course it's yucky and drizzling, but I'm the only one that seemed to notice.

Okay.

Wow! That must have been nice!
Quote: Separating them is a good idea! I didn't think about that.

I'm hoping I don't lose my luck this next chick season. Last year out of 21-22 chicks I only lost two. One was a runt and it was also my little brother's chick. Then I had a beautiful pullet who had neurological damage, it was smaller then all the others and started having seizures. It was still sad but the year before when it was my mother's flock we lost several.

Hoping for the best for those who are dealing with chicks at the moment.

We ordered 25, meal maker and two buff Roo's. We lost one the day after ahipping. We did vaccinate our flock as we didn't want any issues. We have had good health for the most part

Here is Mango
Oh goodness yes she's getting those red feathers! Here is my Amelia on day 25, a few days older than your girls.

I love our Golden Buff, she is an everyday layer, of large caramel colored eggs, though her first few eggs were lavender colored. She has only skipped three days since she started 3 months ago (at 21 weeks) so about once a month. She is shy, sweet and quiet. She's at the bottom of the pecking order and while she doesn't love being held she will hop up onto my lap to beg for food. Here is what she looks like now:

I just love the white on her neck and the lacing on her back. I think she's our prettiest girl.

WOW! They look like twins! Well I guess the mystery of mango is solved! Thanks for the pics! Now to find out what lemon is (I'm really thinking Delaware)

Here are pics of our Golden Buff, Ginger. She is our best layer and we sometimes get purplish eggs from her or white spotted eggs. Most times her eggs are pretty dark though and she always lays extra large eggs. She has skipped only a day here and there when molting but consistently lays an egg every day.

She was a curious chick from the beginning.

Very friendly too.

When free ranging, she is the very last to go in the coop, one night she was left out all night long and enjoyed it. I now have to go and pick her up and put her in the coop since everyone goes to bed way before her. She is very easy to pick up since she is so friendly. I would get more of this breed, I'll probably add one every other year since they are such reliable layers.

As far as Meyers goes. I have been happy with them. Good quality chickens and I never received a rooster in any of my 3 orders. Plus, I love getting an extra meal maker surprise in each shipment.
