I wanted to leave a five star review for Meyer hatchery. We had better than 90% hatch rate with 28 shipped eggs - a mix of easter eggers and buff and BBS orpingtons. Our chicks hatched out bright-eyed and trouble free. We can't wait to try ducks from Meyer next spring!

I value reading others reviews. I posted this to help others who rely on reviews. In fact, we purchased eggs from Meyer after searching backyard chickens and seeing good reviews.

This is our second time trying to hatch shipped eggs. The first try from another hatchery had 0 hatch out of 8 eggs. On the other hand, we have done about 10 hatches with chicken and duck eggs we've picked up ourselves and had great success, but it involves a lot of driving because we are rural.

We recommend Meyer as a great place for shipped hatching eggs, even if you live in one of the western states far from their hatchery. We are in eastern Washington.

We did not treat them any different from picked-up eggs. As soon as they arrived at the post office, we picked them up and placed them straight in the incubator.

I hope this helps others!

That’s nice to hear.
I never ordered eggs from them, but I did order chicks.
I ordered speckled Sussex and they arrived fast and healthy, I lost one a few days later but overall I was pleased.

Thanks for the positive reports! I am starting to figure my spring order of chicks and am doing research on hatcheries. I've used Hoover and Ideal, but thought about trying Meyer this time. As I price things, Meyer looks like the most affordable even though I can get deliveries from Ideal for no shipping charge as they directly ship to my local Atwoods.
