"Meyer hatchery" how true is it??

I had a Frost White Legbar from Meyer (Sept 2018 hatch). They were a distinct medium blue egg. I even won a 1stplace ribbon for a half dozen of those blue eggs in a festival.
Amazing! And it's because I ordered recently 4 females, and I heard good and bad reviews. I really want blue eggs 😄

I don't know, but I'm going to find out. :) I ordered one for mid June.... I intended to get another Easter Egger but they were sold out until well into the summer. It will be fun to try a new breed.

Just adding in my 2c that I have high hopes!

We just lost our Easter Egger, so in about two weeks my 2020 chick batch will be off heat (Blue Splash Andalusian, blue Splash Marans, Austra White, and SLW) and so today I impulse decided to order 3 x Cream Legbars from Meyer for June 1 hatch date. It will be my first year doing two batches of chicks and they also will be the first breed I’ve ever owned more than one of! Only way to get colored eggs on that hatch date and I can’t do any later with a July vacation.

they will be “The Schuyler Sisters” and joining 2 year old Barred Plymouth Rock and one year olds of red sex link, white leghorn, and a Dominique. Between the brown egg layers, the Leghorn and Austra White, the Marans and the CLs I expect to have a darn good looking Easter basket next year!

My CLs are the most docile chicks I’ve ever had. I wonder if the warm weather is playing a part. Normally I am raising my chicks in 30-40 AM temps and now it’s in the 90s. I can’t really get them to react to my normal treat calls and have only observed any of them eat or drink once or twice in 7 days. A really boring show to open the coop door and watch the “Schuyler Sisters”.

But they’re not stress chirping and they’re alive And they are pooping! So I know they are! Just waiting it out!
