I actually order eggs from Gypsy hen, but I have a lurking problem and chick fever and it gets me in really big trouble

I SOOOO understand! For years, my children have officially banned me from entering a TSC (or any other place that sells chicks) unsupervised during Chick Season. Apparently, I require an escort every time I go for feed! Of course, I've learned to play that to my advantage. If I mention that I need more pellets (or bedding, or dog food, or ...) and then casually "wonder" if they have the chicks out yet, my son often volunteers to make the run for me. Works for me!

Yes, they can be pricey. Generally, they have pretty healthy chicks. And when I’ve had an issue, they have worked with me within their policy.

Bc I can drive there (it’s a few hours though), I’ve picked up chick orders there so they wouldn’t be shipped. While there, I’ve picked up random chicks in their extra bin. Once, I picked out a chick that was normally a $50 chick, so I was happy about that!! The pricey chicks seem to be the ones you can’t find easily or wildly popular.

But, if they have what at you want, consider them or find a cheaper alternative.

We buy some chicks there, but it is not our main hatchery to use.

I've had very nice healthy birds from Myers. I always use them as my hatchery and I live in California. Birds arrive next day I've never had more than one loss and there birds have been beautiful! My last flock I had a silver penciled Rock as my roo and he was Stunning!!!

23.00 for an ameraucana. I mean don’t get me wrong I’ll buy one for that price. Why? I’m crazy! I mean I guess it’s not bad I bout from crackle for 19 and their line isn’t that great. They may have a better line of ameraucanas.

My Ameraucana's from Meyers are real Ameraucanas ( I ordered BBS , go blue,black and splash)

I am on Ameraucana groups and most people agree my birds are nice,especially the rooster. My hens lays a nice blue egg, medium to large sized.

I recently ordered chicks from Meyer again, one of which is a Splash Ameraucana (they offer each color rather than BBS now, plus lavender which is close to double the price). I paid the $23 because I wanted a non-EE that laid blue eggs, and their CCLs were sold out for the hatch date I wanted. I could have bought an Opal Legbar of course, if I had $100 to throw around! They don’t seem to be selling out of those anytime soon…
