Meyer or Ideal?

Okay here what I've experienced with each:
Ideal: Most birds I've seen are very mismarked for the breed represented, most are good layers though. We have got a Silver Laced Wyanadotte that is more mottled looking than laced looking, but is really pretty even though is mismarked.

Meyer: Looks like most of their stock is not up to weight standards, otherwise good layers the few layer that we've ordered from them, we've ordered mostly roosters. Example: we had a Black Jersey Giant about a year old was only around 7lbs or so. They should have at least been 10 lbs. But he was very like by his ladies until freezer camp day.

I may be trying Mt. Healthy next: I'm wanting some of their Amberlinks.

2 of my original 3 hens from Meyer are still with us and going on 3 years & good layers & strong hens. My Cuckoo Marans hen from them lays a very nice large dark brown egg -- not as dark as what I see shown here from breeder Marans, but darker than Orpington or Australorp egg layers. My Americauana/Easter Egger lays a large green beautiful egg & is also a consistent layer.

Just placed my spring order from Meyers -- we don't show - just want our chickens for fun, pets & eggs.
