Mice in the coop. They have a lot of tunnels but how will I catch them?

I had a mouse problem in my garage that made their way into my house between my main floor and basement ceiling
I found the nest in the garage with brand new babies 2 days or less old
We set up the snap traps as well as the sticky pads and added a little peanut butter in the centre
The snap trap only caught 2
The cats got 4
I killed the 4 newborn babies
The sticky pads got all the rest
We had a little over a week of hell with mice running though the house
But I caught them all
The sticky pads are amazing
But they don’t die on them. I had a water bucket close by I could drown them so they don’t suffer
I caught all ages from adults to young teens to babies
I had a big family of mice
It’s been over a month and not a sign of any around
I left the traps set up in case
You would need to be able to put them where the birds couldn’t get the traps as they would get stuck to them

I had a horrible mouse problem this fall, it was awful. The first time I set traps, I went inside for something and by the time (like 10 minutes) I got back, I had 2 mice. ick.
Snap traps, baited with peanut butter mixed with bread. You want it like a thick dough, really wedge it into the bait area, and especially under the little lip so they can't just lick it off. Set the traps where the mice can be but chickens can't, like in corners, rafters, along walls. To make sure the birds didn't go after the traps, you can put them in coffee cans, cut the tops off a milk jug or put them under milk crates or something like a shoe box with a hole in the side. It took about 5 weeks but i got them all, I caught about 20-30.

I use snap traps, and the cats take care of most of them.
I did have one mouse that just got a leg caught, so make sure you have a spade or something to finish it off, and to check them often.

Chickens will kill mice during the day, but not at night.
Last year we had an incredible mouse infestation, and use the Victor live traps, metal, from Amazon to get them. Had as many as ten in one trap at once!
I refuse to use sticky traps and drown anyone!!!
Our live traps went traveling, by car, to remote areas, daily. I though we had maybe 30 mice, and stopped counting at 140+!!!
Snap traps work fine, usually, as long as you don't have a colony like we had, and they need to be unavailable to your birds.
