Mice problem drowning in ducks water

Fill a 5 gallon bucket with water and put a plank going to the middle of the bucket, set the plank on a stick or something so when the mouse walks the plank he falls in, you can also put a something in the water that flouts and put peanut butter on it so they jump in and drown so you can get multiple per night. By plank I mean a skinny piece of wood that won't hold the mouse up by floating.

I don't see this as a problem. I've bought and made a bucket for just this purpose. I know it's not fun picking them out, and the thought of the excrement.
