Boyd, were you going to bring the buns and condiments for the burgers? If not, I would love to bring them. Let me know, YakLady if that is ok. If not, I will figure out something else.

I also grew up in St. Johns. If you remember where the Lansing Mall is on the west side of Lansing, the park is north of there behind the mall off Willow, kinda between W. Saginaw and Grand River, where Farm and Fleet (now its TSC) is.
Hope this gives you an idea.
No one is every a transplant or outsider when it comes to our BYC get togethers, the more the merrier!!!
Thanks, everyone, for contributing. I've edited the original post to show an updated list of who's bringing what. If you do not see your name and item listed, please let me know.
Snewman, I hear ya' about the ferry beating the drive through Chicago. I bought my first herd of yaks from the Green Bay Yakkers. We bought a trailer from a person in the Green Bay area, and they held it until we could make it over to pick up the herd. When the time came to pick them up, we traveled over on the Badger and picked up the trailer first. Then we drove to the ranch, spent the night, and loaded the yaks the next day. We brought the yaks back on the Badger, then drove the four hours back home. Those four hours were stressful enough. I can't imagine how it would have been if we had had to haul a load of yaks through Chicago. LOL! Glad you're going to try to make it.
There has been a request. I received an email from someone, asking me to post the following:
"I know managing food is a big task.. but can you add a note for people to make a quick note as to the ingredients in their dish. we dont need the whole recipe but just an ingredient list would make it helpful for people with allergies or intolerance, religious preference, or even for medical reasons like Coeliac disease.. just a thought.. thanks"
I know food allergies can be a nasty thing to deal with, so if we can make someone's life easier let's do it. Rather than post the ingredients on here, though, let's just bring an index card or something similar with our dish. That way people with allergies, religious restrictions, or medical problems can just glance at the list that will be placed with each dish. They will be able to make their food choices discreetly, and feel free to enjoy their meal without worry.
Thanks again, and I'm looking forward to meeting all of you!
EXCELLENT idea, YakLady! I'm looking forward to meeting you & the rest of the first-timers-to-Chickenstock, and renewing friendships with the others I've already met!
