This little guy is about 8 weeks old, fully feathered. We hatched him in one of our 1st grade classrooms at school (I'm a teacher). We thought he was a hen. I took him home to add to my flock, but now I'm pretty sure he is a rooster. I have a rooster and 2 hens. I can't add another rooster to that mix, so I need to give this little fella away. Anybody want a rooster? I would REALLY appreciate it! I live in Benton Harbor Michigan

Our family rooster Ron just passed on Wednesday night from natural causes. I stumbled across this site while looking for a replacement to watch over our hens and ducks. If the little gray guy is still looking for a good home we can meet you 1/2 way ... as early as tomorrow. We're out in the far southwest suburbs of Chicago.

Welcome Jaida. You'll love this site if you're a chicken keeper.

Jaida,
I'm just seeing your post, it's Friday night. I don't know if I can meet you tomorrow, but I can Sunday for sure. I'm not an expert at backyard chickens.com, and I'm not sure how to send you a personal message with my phone number.

Didn't mean to make it sound that urgent! There's a lot of people making it sound like they need their rooster(s) gone ASAP.

Unfortunately, this Sunday won't work. We have a graduation party and then leave for training in Indy.

If you want to meet up Wed eve or at some point next weekend, either would work out. I will PM my cell #.

My students love looking at pics of my animals. They'll love the backstory, then beg to raise some at my city high school!
