Hi! I'm just North of Lansing in Dewitt Township. I'm going to be doing BYC soon. I plan on converting my shed into my coop and I'm full of questions right now. I am planning space for 5-6 girls, I don't think I'd need more since the eggs will be for just me. I don't know how many I can legally have here. I'm outside Lansing city limits, so their laws don't affect me.

I'm very egg-cited about my new hobby and love chickens!! I want to order, but it seems I need a special place for the chicks first, a brooder? Have to look that up now and see what I need. I just really wanted to touch base with other Michigan folks. I'm glad you're here!!
