Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

I sprouted some rey seed this spring, I just soaked it for 24hrr then spread it out on a little dirt kept it damp and in a basement window, worked real well
Were you trying to grow the plant for feed or to harvest seeds?

The method I'm using is you grow for 7 days, then pull the whole mat out and feed, roots n all to the livestock. Dirt and other foreign matter can contribute to molds etc. So you keep it as clean as possible. I even put a dab of bleach in the water when washing the seeds.
LOL, oops, I did it again! Honest I wasn't trying this time...........10000 th post!

Didn't a few on here get chicks from Cedar Creek Hatchery? I'm attempting to incubate again, and if it doesn't go well (again) I'm going to be done with hatching and just buy some chicks. I know that for shipping and such there are minimum orders, but some of you also just picked them up? Was there a minimum then? I should probably just call them, but I don't want to waste their time if my hatch turns out decent......I don't want to be that person that calls and asks a ton of questions and then doesn't buy anything.

I bought hatching eggs from them so I can't help with the chick question, sorry. Shoot them an email instead.

very cool do you get a prize??/ I used only about 1/2 in soil and there was no mold issue, they took about 5 to 7 days to get about an inch tall then I took the hole thing out to the chickens,. they loved scratching in the dirt when every thing was frozen. I did one batch on cheese cloth but that proved to be not so good. had to pull the sprouts out as I was worried about them eating strings as they pulled on the sprouts. didn't think they would sprout in a tray, with no holes, I have some planting trays I may try them.
fun photo for the day:

Gladys Kravitz! ROTFLMAO

Here it's Ethel Merman, which I don't even know where that came from because Google just told me she (EM) was a singer. LOL

Enjoy the sunshine, so nice outside today. :)
