They sure are!!! Love those sweet faces!
Okay. I just wanted to share a story with you all. As many of you know, I had a fiasco with some raccoons. I had basically given up hope and was at my wits end, but was surprised yesterday and this morning with some beautiful chicks. Here is the part that really warmed my heart. When I got my Crested Cream Legbar eggs, one had a very strange air sac. In fact, it looked like this picture:
congrats, How cool is that, hope you post some pics later
No thanks Water is a pain but snow this time of yr is depressing!!!!Fuzzy, just gradually continue to increase the feed over about 10-14 days until you have him at normal rations. The supplement sounds like a good idea, and if it is just an ounce you can probably start adding that right away without any concerns.
I commiserate with all those with flooding. I will trade you the snow.
very cool I love dream catchers, my son has 2 in his room even takes them camping with usA dog like that needs to be called Spi
ke! lol! Very thoughtful of your DH Hillbilly!
I wanted to share a gift I received from a friend yesterday. Can't get more authentic than this. His name is Red Bird.
He smudged it, and then explained what all the items meant....
Stay dry!
love your little incubator( and the chicks of course, ) seems like it worked wellThe boys woke up just in time to watch the first chick emerge from its shell, they were so excited! Two more are pipped and rocking. I have to go to work from 11-3 and so don't want to, would much rather stay here and watch these cuties hatch.
beautiful birds
I am so happy for you that things are going better! I was sad to hear about all the raccoon attacks. Wish there was something I could do to help. But new baby chicks make things better!Okay. In fact, it looked like this picture:The air sac was on the side of the egg instead of the top. I set the egg and figured it was hopeless. I left it alone, though, with the rare chance that it would make it. When I candled the eggs right before lockdown, the air sac was still on the side of the egg. There were 9 CCL eggs total. When I woke up, there were 7 CCL chicks in the hatcher and 1 egg pipped. That last crazy air cell egg wasn't pipped yet and I figured it was useless to even hope for anything. Well, about 15 minutes ago, a small pip formed in the egg and literally a few seconds ago, a perfectly beautiful little chick emerged. In fact, it was so eager to get out that it even beat the other egg that was already pipped in getting out! That one is still trying to figure out how to get out of the egg. I love how God steps in and gives us some hope even in the darkest times.

How long to keep hens and rooster separate from old roo to insure they are all from 1 roo, 10 days? I separated my Basque and 6 hens about a week ago, hoping some one goes broody in about 15 days so I can have her sen some Basque and Basque mix.
