So, I've been stalking & gawking, but not posting so much. Finally have my computer issues sorted out (I hope!).

We have put ALL our chicks & ducklings outside, and our momma hen with her babies as well. It feels so nice to have the house back!

Here is momma (Jewels) and the 9 babies she hatched. She is being a wonderful mom.

I just had the extreme pleasure to view this pair of Sandhill Cranes out my back window. So when God gives you such a rare gift, you take a picture & share it. Simply gorgeous.

Congrats Opa!

Welcome to all newbies!


Well, two of the hogs and a noisy steer finally bit the dust today. We had a guy come and he shot them, and gutted them. I watched the whole thing, and helped in a small way. I felt bad when he shot Pancake the steer, almost cried. But I am so not going to miss his bawling! Finally will have quiet here at the farm besides the poultry noise. Some neighbors can hear him bawling half a mile away! We cooked a small part of the hog and it was very tasty. It was from a uncut boar, and we did not taste any taint!

It is at the Gratiot County Fair For Youth Fairgrounds in Alma. There is a sale area and I am thinking that RIRJen might be bringing some silkie chicks to sell. I will be there in a red shirt with white footprints on the back.

It is nice to know that people care about me. Thank you all.

I'm just back from the courthouse.

The sentence is:
30 days in jail
6 months of reporting to probation
$905 in fines
Pay for the court appointed attorney
Comply with all city ordinances.

But the judge was "nice" and suspended the jail time. However, if I fail on any of the above details I will be thrown in jail. And since there are more ordinance violations next week that pretty much assures that I'm breaking the last condition.
